OSB board originated in North America and Europe in the 1970s, initially mainly used in the construction industry. It is a board made by processing small diameter wood, wood core, or scraps into long strip-shaped planing pieces through special equipment, applying adhesive, and laying them in a specific direction, and then hot pressing them at high temperature.

Surface planing: 40-120mm in length, 5-20mm in width, 0.3-0.7mm in thickness
Moisture content: below 8%
Fire rating: B1 level
Size specification: 1220 × 2440mm (4 × 8 feet)
Thickness: 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm
Adhesive: Formaldehyde free MDI adhesive
Environmental protection level: E1, ENF level (zero formaldehyde emission)

Detail

Long strip-shaped planing pieces (usually 40-100 millimeters in length, 5-20 millimeters in width, and 0.3-0.7 millimeters in thickness) are processed using specialized equipment and processed through processes such as degreasing, drying, gluing, directional paving, and hot pressing.

The internal structural characteristics are the vertical arrangement of surface planing pieces and the horizontal arrangement of core planing pieces. This criss crossing arrangement reorganizes the wood texture, eliminates the influence of internal stress in wood, and thus has excellent stability and physical properties.

Material Properties

High strength and stability: The directional grain structure of OSB board gives it extremely high bending strength and load-bearing capacity, far higher than ordinary particle board, suitable for use in areas with high strength requirements such as wardrobe partitions from one door to the top.

Strong nail grip: Due to its directional structure, no joints, no gaps, good overall uniformity, and high internal bonding strength, it has super strong nail grip ability in both the center and edges, and is not easy to loosen after screw fixation.

Good environmental performance: High quality OSB boards often use MDI adhesive (isocyanate adhesive), which does not contain formaldehyde and releases nearly zero formaldehyde, reaching E0 or even ENF environmental standards.

Waterproof and moisture-proof properties are generally average: OSB boards have a certain degree of moisture-proof properties in dry environments in the north, but in high humidity environments in the south, if the surface is not sealed, it is prone to water absorption, expansion, and bulging, and its moisture-proof performance is not as good as multi-layer boards.

Good processability: OSB board can be machined by sawing, sanding, planing, drilling, nailing, filing, etc. It is easy to decorate the surface and can be widely used in industries such as building decoration.

Product Category:

According to different usage environments and load-bearing requirements, OSB boards can be divided into four levels: OSB/1, OSB/2, OSB/3, and OSB/4. Among them, OSB/1 is used for interior decoration under dry conditions; OSB/2 is a load-bearing board under dry conditions; OSB/3 is a load-bearing plate under humid conditions; OSB/4 is a load-bearing plate with stronger load-bearing capacity under humid conditions.

Application fields:

In the field of architecture, OSB boards can be used for interior and exterior wall panels, floor slabs, large-span beams, etc. in building construction; In indoor decoration, it can replace particleboard, plywood, etc., and be used to make furniture such as cabinets and wardrobes. It can also be used as a substrate for composite wood flooring; In addition, it can also be used for container floor and side panels, packaging box boards, etc.
