PU cultural stone is a simulated stone decorative material made from polyurethane (PU) as the base material through processes such as mold casting and surface treatment.

Structure and composition

Base material layer: It is composed of polyurethane resin mixed with lightweight fillers such as calcium carbonate and quartz sand, with a density only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of natural stone, offering both toughness and hardness.

Texture layer: By replicating the texture and veins of natural stone materials such as marble, sandstone, and cultural stone, combined with processes such as embossing and sandblasting, the concave and convex texture and natural texture of the stone are restored.

Protective layer: The surface is coated with environmentally friendly water-based paint or nano-coating, enhancing wear resistance, stain resistance, and UV resistance, thereby extending the service life.

Classification

By simulation type:

Marble-patterned PU stone: It replicates classic marble textures such as Jazz White and Carrara White, with a surface glossiness of up to 60-80°, resembling the texture of natural marble. However, it is non-radioactive and easy to cut.

Cultured stone-grain PU stone: It simulates the rough texture and irregular splicing of natural cultural stones, such as slate and volcanic rock, with a rugged and vintage texture.

Sandstone/Travertine PU stone: It mimics the granular texture of sandstone and the honeycomb-like porous structure of travertine, with a gentle touch and an inherent aged appearance.

By functional characteristics:

Lightweight PU stone: With a density of ≤0.8g/cm³ and a single piece weighing only 3-5kg, it is suitable for hanging on walls or decorating the exterior walls of high-rise buildings.

Waterproof PU stone: The surface is treated with a special coating, with a water absorption rate of ≤0.5%, suitable for use in wet areas such as bathrooms and balconies.

Self-adhesive PU stone: The back is pre-coated with environmentally friendly adhesive, which allows for instant peeling and pasting without the need for cement or sand plaster. It is suitable for rental property renovation or quick refurbishment.

Feature

Light weight: Its weight is only 1/3 to 1/4 of that of natural stone, reducing transportation costs and the load on building structures. It is easy to install and can be directly installed in old house renovations without reinforcing the walls.

High fidelity: Through advanced mold technology and surface treatment processes, it can accurately replicate over 90% of the natural stone texture, making it almost impossible to distinguish the real from the fake from a distance of one meter.

Good durability: The temperature tolerance range is from minus 20 degrees Celsius to high temperature 120 degrees Celsius. It can withstand alternating high and low temperatures, rainwater erosion, and ultraviolet radiation, maintaining stable color over a long period of time.

Excellent environmental friendliness: No harmful substances are added during the production process, making it a non-toxic, odorless, and formaldehyde-free green and environmentally friendly decorative material.

Easy to install: The product is designed with an internal clip structure, featuring tongue edges, full grooves, and reserved seams. Most of the work does not require caulking, and installation can be completed directly using screws and gun nails, resulting in a short construction period.
